Quatuors Parisiens — Telemann’s Masterpieces

The art of composing quartets for three solo instruments and continuo was mastered by no one more perfectly in the late baroque than Georg Philipp Telemann. His quartets were influential for decades and are an epitome of baroque chamber music. With the Nouveaus Quatuors, which Telemann wrote in 1738 in Paris, he excelled himself in expression and skill. The quartets of his contemporaries reflect Telemann’s artistry.
